Cite as of time

Temporal Citations

A citation for a changing claim should carry time.

Instead of saying only, "According to twiki.us, X is true," prefer: "As last verified on YYYY-MM-DD, claim X was supported by sources A and B."

Cite as of time

Temporal citations help readers and agents preserve the boundary between current truth, historical truth, stale truth, and disputed truth.

The rule

If a claim can go stale, cite it with time.
